# Getting Started

### Step 01

When you invite the bot, it will join your server with some of the basic permissions that the bot requires to function properly. Therefore, be sure to grant those permissions access.

<div data-full-width="false"><figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FW6KJJWyuccdsjShSXO60%2FScreenshot_5.png?alt=media&amp;token=93d09c23-794a-4fcd-b322-f00187952fa8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

### Step 02

The AuthGG role needs to be placed above the verified and/or unverified roles in your discord server as the next action. The bot won't be able to add or remove those roles otherwise.

{% hint style="info" %}
However we suggest you to move AuthGG role to the top of your roles hierarchy for the maximum level of security
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FVpWBc2pX8U8c8fjJlmWp%2Fimage%20(3).png?alt=media&amp;token=fd2e039e-ece5-466f-b111-9582927ae89b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Step 03

AuthGG uses custom emotes. Please enable the **`Use External Emoji`** permissions for the **`@everyone`** role in the channels where your verification embed is located and where your verification logs are located if you encounter any visual issues like this one.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FmV8HYXikXX28KGTGsoTU%2Fimage%20(4).png?alt=media&amp;token=c2e2c106-a584-401d-a702-379432f016f0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Image Captcha

The captcha verification method is one of the most popular verification systems among our users. So let's take a look at how it's set up.

The command to use to set up the captcha verification is `/setup-captcha`, and as we type it, we must fill in some information.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2Fvqfam6qn2ANwo9uHL9qs%2Fimage%20(7).png?alt=media&amp;token=b0326bef-6cce-4bf1-9244-e1cd4f173622" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

8. **failed-attempts**
   * You can specify here how many times a user can fail the verification before being kicked or banned if the above-mentioned kick-or-ban feature is enabled
9. **verified-role-2**
   * If you have a second verified role, you can assign it here
10. **verified-role-3**
    * If you have a third verified role, you can assign it here
11. **unverified-role**
    * If you have an unverified role, you can assign it here, and it will be removed from the user after successful verification
12. **embed-thumbnail**
    * You can upload an image to use as the thumbnail of the verification embed

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2F0wMmK6WDOPM8ymbJHgNM%2Fimage%20(8).png?alt=media&amp;token=561483f0-25fd-4140-a3dc-93d481a7fe6e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# 1-Click Verification

The simplest verification method is this one, which anyone can set up. Your members can be verified with one click using the 1-click button verification method. No fuss at all.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FSMW8hQ4sPDAiVXYaiN3H%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=b2eae73c-f52a-4369-bbfe-3dc503958ca7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can use `/setup-button` command to set this up.

As usual, before setting this up, you must choose a verification channel, a verified role, a log channel, etc.

# Random Emoji Pick

An interactive random emoji pick verification. This is how you can set it up on your server.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FllP8mj8KAPImSZ7mzROt%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=793862b6-116b-4f49-9b03-535db319a6aa" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The command to set this up is `/setup-emoji-pick` and as you type it, you have to fill in some information such as your log channel, verification channel, your verified role, etc.

# Math Verification

Allow new users to solve a basic math question right on Discord and only grand access if they pass the verification by answering the math question correctly.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FnLcBYxvFSYUmChivXeJl%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=b5e499bb-4ef3-4dd7-87fb-ddc910f9da22" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The command to set this up is `/setup-math-captcha`

As you type in that command, as usual you would have to choose a verification channel, log channel, your verified role, a title for your embed message, etc.

# Hidden Word Captcha

New users must click on a hidden field to uncover a secret word, and then choose the correct word from a list of buttons containing random words

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FCZF5suKANaUliPQJ3uM6%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=3b002ab5-8ffe-4af8-83e1-4a43fa3df374" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The command to set this up is `/setup-word-captcha`

As you type in that command, as usual you would have to choose a verification channel, log channel, your verified role, a title for your embed message, etc.

# Web Verification

New users will be validated on our website before being shown a captcha that must be entered in Discord. You can prevent users of proxies and VPNs this way

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FgpM1bHvve1I75pOZZxhZ%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=fccda39a-611d-494e-ad9f-c83d2fc3bc2b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The command to set this up is `/setup-web-captcha`

As you type in that command, as usual you would have to choose a verification channel, log channel, your verified role, a title for your embed message, etc.

# Email Verification

You can use email verification to have new users verified using their email addresses. Upon entering their email address, AuthGG will send them a verification code to their email.

Server admins can limit which domains email addresses are accepted for verification on the server, giving them additional control over this process. For example, you can only verify users who use @gmail.com email addresses.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2Fl5mrW0jZ7S0mC5qW2574%2Femail-verification.png?alt=media&amp;token=c9c81218-3318-4bc8-882b-5d669080e3b6" alt="" width="503"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The command to set this up is `/setup email-verification`

As you type in that command, as usual you would have to choose a verification channel, log channel, your verified role, a title for your embed message, etc.

### Whitelist domains

To whitelist a domain name or remove a domain from whitelist, you can type the command `/config email-verification`

{% hint style="warning" %}
By default, every email can be verified on the server. To disable this and only allow your specified email addresses to be verified, type in `/config email-verification` command, click on the 'Remove a domain' button and enter @all. Then you can add your own email addresses using the 'Add a domain to the whitelist' button.
{% endhint %}

### Email tokens

Each server receives 50 email tokens by default each month. When a user tries to verify on your server, email tokens are used to send emails. It costs one email token for a successful email verification.

### Export email list

As a server admin, you can export a list of email addresses that were verified on your server. You can export a list by using the command `/config email-verification` and clicking the 'Export email list' button.

<div data-full-width="false"><figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FxZvfcuk92QJ1LvS4LkDw%2Fexport-email.png?alt=media&amp;token=39c5a164-3310-4672-a9ba-1c384af62277" alt="" width="563"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

# Changing Server Rules

Once you've configured the verification system, anyone who clicks the verify button will be presented with server rules and a continue button. They won't be able to verify themselves until they read those rules and click on the continue button.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2Fr4CgaRuRoklirgmlNTvU%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=98b5e04c-600d-40b2-9934-42892f9032f5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

We've set some basic rules by default, but of course you can change these with your own rules. Let's see how you can do it.

Use the `/config-rules` command to change the server rules. As you type that command and hit enter, a modal window will appear in which you can enter your new server rules.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FYfryAu6mUOHsJ6tHIT5b%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=b0b79639-1e09-4ca5-bb21-599d80605c0b" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Config Auto Kick

Another intriguing feature of AuthGG is the ability to automatically kick out members who don't get verified within the time frame you specify.

They would then receive a DM from the bot explaining the reason they were kicked.

Right now, you can have them kicked in 2, 5, or 15 minutes.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FePHBsqlLJ5s3vNUYIYp6%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=8e9233fd-28d0-4a20-a57c-3095979d0af8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

This is also fairly simple to set up. After configuring the verification system, all you need to do is type `/config-autokick`.

The auto-kick feature can then be enabled or disabled, and you can choose how long you want to wait before kicking someone if they are not verified.

# Config Verification Flow/Steps

We've also given you the option to enable or disable specific steps in the verification flow. For example, if you want to remove the rules agreement step from the verification flow, you can do so by entering the command `/config-step`.

As an example, let us disable the rules agreement step. To do that, enter the command, choose Disable, and then choose the step you want to be disabled, in this case Rules Agreement.

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FEwtFDMmSYDkk9zaIXzZN%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=e7f9a5a6-d597-4bab-ae2c-99b96938dab7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Config Join Age

When you enable this, any user accounts that do not meet the minimum account age you specify will be automatically kicked when they join your server, and they will receive a DM from the bot explaining why.

You can use the command `/config-joinage` to set this up feature

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2F0PKPqZkIpMQcbQb62PD3%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=e89f40e2-6ede-4306-8790-29d302434568" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Discord Onboarding Support

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2F1KiL23arCGF3r4JJN0yy%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=9eff73d4-29d4-497a-9dfe-6ee438f88b2c" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

While Discord Onboarding is a fantastic feature to have on your Discord server, but some of its limitations, such as the 5 public channels that allow anyone to send messages, put your server at serious risk.&#x20;

To fill that gap, we have introduced `/config-onboarding` where you can use AuthGG + Discord Onboarding parallelly on your Discord server.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://3555068759-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F5JrmSIjNdh5260YS1Ay6%2Fuploads%2FNfxRkaQJjxvaBZkPKYVN%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=73344493-3037-470b-8a23-39c5709e221f" alt="" width="506"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
